Wings & Weight

May 2016

Flying and being free is tantalizing when our internal reality is struggling with existential weights.

These birds with their wings and feathers invited me to be light and free, and still all I could see was the contrast between them and my human anxiety.

The little cage was a found object that I added to the scene: freedom was everywhere, while my feelings were oppressive, contracting me into my own isolation.
